The organization is created to respond to the needs of black men. We curate spaces for black men and our leadership consist of black men. We do collaborate with organizations around issues that encompass and impact the black male experience. Although our organization and meeting spaces are for black men, we do believe in building coalitions and partnerships to build healthy communities.

We have black men from all walks of life. We also believe that the explicit inclusion of men who are queer, trans, gay, bi makes our community stronger. We highlight this fact because we want all black men to feel welcome, and we know that many spaces for black men do not always acknowledge and welcome the diversity of experiences that black men have
BMEN’s work is centered in black male studies, as well as analyses and studies that humanize the experience of black men. BMEN relies on data based interventions to inform how we approach solving the problems that black men experience in community.
(B)MEN is an inclusive group of Black men working to mobilize all Black men regardless of class, national origin, immigration status, age, sexual orientation, sexual identity, and gender expression. Our network provides support groups, conferences, and community action for black men, allowing them space to respond to their own experiences, as well as those in their community.
